Rift Strategy: Thaurlach

Here is the condensed strategy on the Thaurlach fight. Make sure you know your responsibilities and you have the appropriate pots to assist.

Phase 1 - Purifying the Waters
1. Defeat 2 World Eaters/Darklings down left corridor *Mezz the off World Eater
2. Defeat 2 World Eaters/Darklings down right corridor *Mezz the off World Eater

Phase 2 - Ever-Seer's Demise
1. Before Thaurlach breaks free, position an Off Tank/Captain and non minstrel (burg pref) and LM at both the left and right door. LM will cast antistun on Off Tank/Captain right before balrog breaks his chains.
2. As Thaurlach breaks free, Off Tank/Captain will pull adds out of room, pull the 2 levers inside the left and right rooms asap. (If adds are not pulled out before levers are pulled you will get a fear effect interupting lever pulls) Minstrels keep Glathirel healed because of 3 second lever induction time.
Door groups run back with adds to main raid group at circle and pop hope tokens at this time (A total hope wipe occurs after you pull the levers, so wait to pop tokens until everyone makes it back to the glowing circle). Main tank grabs Thaurlach.
*Everyone should be in the circle to gain morale and power regen throughout the add fight, also before switches are complete hunters should trade off getting the thorog eye on them by running to back of room and using "Beneath Notice", otherwise a timer counts down and you are killed
3. After killing mobs, head into Ever-Seer's room except Main Tank. Off tank and Champ turns Ever-Seer and spams clobber when seer casts. This will prevent players in line of sight from getting fear effects. Hunters/Caps/Burgs/Lm's kill darklings. LMs remove fear effects and wounds especially off tank and champ, Burgs keep addle up on Seer and sneak to pull levers. There should be one min, lm, burg, behind the front pillar on each side, and 1 hunter behind the back pillar on each side. *Noone should be in the middle of this room to prevent fear wounds
4. Pull levers 3,2,1 to spawn world eater in main room. Main tank can handle this no problem 2-handed.
5. After World Eater and Ever-Seer are down, pop hope tokens again, pull lever 4,3 to remove Eldritch Renewal from Thaurlach and run out to the balrog after his second roar. Kill the lone World Eater spawn in the main room after pulling the last 2 levers.

Phase 3
Thaurlach's DemiseBalrog fight is a straight fight but the raid group will react to buffs that the Balrog shows at different times in the fight.
1. Do not bother with fms before reaching 180k since balrog has an anti-fm buff.
2. Aura of Rage (Red Skull) *Slot Disable
3. Balrog's Rage (Fire) *Slot Disable
4. Aura of Retribution (Yellow Skull) *Dust in the eyes
5. Resilient Fortitude (Question Mark Shield) *Increased Immunity to FM's so use them wisely
6. Sulfur Deception (Cloud) *Counter Defenses
7. Balrog's Retribution (Fiery Face) *Dust in the Eyes
8. Aura of Restoration (Green Skull) *All Yellow FMs
9. Balrog's Renewal (Green Beam) *All Yellow FM's
10. At 100k Balrog might puke disease and kill everyone *Keep addle up
11. At 50k Balrog Jumps up and down for mega AOE dmg *Everyone run away until he stops
12. At 20k Minstrels need to re-apply Hopeful Heart
13. At 12k Balrog goes beserk. Taunt the balrog like crazy to keep balrog off elf girl. *Captains can drop "Oathbreakers Shame" on Balrog and alternate and Burgs use trip for all yellow fm, captains should use In Harms Way and Last Stand. All classes will hit the Balrog hard with as much dps as possible to outdamage him to death before elf girl is killed.

Duties for Balrog Fight
1. Main Taink - Keep aggro off Elf Girl *Use poison pot when balrog hits you with poison debuff (Thorog Eye)
2. Minstrels - Heal everyone like crazy and drop hopeful heart under the balrog.
3. Loremasters - Two Lms need to cycle thru keeping anti-stun on everyone and debuffing/Power drain. Alternate every 30 seconds.
4. Captains - Banner placement and heal, Make main tank your "Shield Brother" with "Strength of Will" and "To Arms", Maintain "In Defense of Middle Earth" buff, and two caps can alternate "Oath Breakers Shame" from 12k to 0 *Banner of Victory on group away from Tank and Banner of Hope on Melee group
5. Hunters - DPS like crazy
6. Burglars - Use tricks based on balrog buffs and addle like crazy at all times, and keep debuffs up
7. Champions - Melee DPS and run in and out if below 2k for heals. *Constantly Dump aggro on Main Tank
